We Are All One!
Welcome
Welcome, and thank you for visiting the Love & Understanding Institute website. We teach and practice a positive and practical approach to spirituality, honoring universal truths in all religions and respecting each individual's right to choose a spiritual path that fulfills their unique lifestyle. We provide you with the tools to learn and grow on your life journey.
We are an Independent Church recognized by the US Government as a Nonprofit Religious Organization under the IRS 501C3.
Our Mission
Our mission is to teach Truth Principles and ancient wisdom to assist in transforming our lives. We provide a space where people can be heard and supported as well as the ability to share their gifts and talents.

Our Vision

Our vision is to establish a spiritual community of loving, compassionate leaders who are examples of healthy, abundant, conscious, peaceful and joy-filled living.
Five Basic Beliefs
1) God is good and everywhere present
2) The spirit of God lives within each and every person.
3) We create our life experiences through our way of thinking.
4) There is a power in affirmative prayer which we believe increases our connection to God
5) Knowledge of these principles is not enough. We must live them.

No Mistakes
Every moment of your life you are making decisions. Even if you are doing nothing, that is a decision too. With those millions of decisions per day there will be some you wish that you hadn’t made.
Your reactions in those moments are part of your learning and growth experience. Taking ownership is an important first step. Your willingness to acknowledge your mistake is essential to learning the lesson.
I have noticed in recent years that refusing to take responsibility and even lying that you didn’t do it has become almost an accepted norm. This has grown because of lack of accountability. If you get away with something then there is a high likelihood that you will continue that behavior.
Personally, I have learned a lot by watching those documented activities of others in positions of power. I learned, that is NOT the way that I want to live my life.
I also learned that every time that I have made a mistake and I took responsibility for it, I have changed. I have become more aware of the mistake and the events that led me to it. I now have valuable information to possibly short-circuit a repeat performance.
The Canadian writer and motivational speaker Robin Sharma wrote, “There are no mistakes in life, only lessons. There is no such thing as a negative experience, only opportunities to grow, learn and advance along the road of self-mastery.”
Our human emotions may disagree with Robin Sharma regarding no negative experiences. I know quite a few people, including myself, when in the moment and aftermath couldn’t embrace that concept. However, over time when the emotions have died down and a retrospective view is possible the value of those experiences normally comes to light.
Pema Chodron the American Buddhist nun says, “Mistakes aren’t failures to be avoided but are essential portals to learning something new.” She emphasizes accepting imperfections, seeing life as a constant cycle of falling apart and coming together, and using moments of struggle to become more present and connected.
